Those inevitably get locked though. I'm just tired of reciting the same arguments over and over again just to have someone with absolutely no knowledge of the subject say why I'm wrong.

Thats one thing that bugs me. There is never (at least that I see) actual discussion over a topic unless its a legitimate question. What I mean is, there is always a argument over whos right and whos wrong.

Its all really pathetic.

Unless a select few users happen to be on the first response is usually something totally retarded or completely wrong. very rarely do i see a thread survive the first page before devolving into a flame war.

I came onto the Sporum to check what was going on today, and the first thing I saw was... another MPN drama thread (whose OP should really have known better) and a bunch of people quoting a spammer's lengthy blank posts and filling up the page with uselessness.

I only ever got downrated off of it anytime i made it on. Lulz were had, it's not like red faces change the quality of the work, subscribers aren't that dumb.

Today, I found a religion-implying thread in GD.

Oh dear.

Look at GD, completely full of Rptroll, sharples, and stupid.

It's such a sad spectacle I can't help but watch. i won't be posting though.

Do we know who Alpha and impious_iron are? They evidently are too recent to remember the rptroll/bloodkplzthnklol fiasco, yet they keep pretending like they're veterans.

Impious is Descardion, so he is a veteran. He's actually one of the more intelligent Sporumers that are still hanging around, judging only from his past behavior - I've not seen what he's been up to today after I just quit checking GD.

I have to fight the urge to go rage in the S&S section. Out of boredom I still check on it from time to time, and dear god the stupid is so thick you could cut it with a fork.

Somehow, after you left... it declined even more.

I know, I didn't think it was possible, but somehow it happened.

And to think I was considering heading there myself not two months ago... it's been declining for a while now, but suddenly it just nosedived. What happened?

the second academic semester began and those of us in university level studies stopped coming as often, leaving the brain dead kiddies to run the place.

Rptroll came back as well, and captainoomp began posting more in S&S.

I do have to applaud rptroll for expertly skirting the line of bansville for so long, but the people who don't remember the original blood/rptroll incident (and sadly a few who should) keep falling for his shtick.

I'm a bit amazed at how many people eat up every word oomp says even though he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about 80% of the time.

I think a lot of people tend to take anyone who posts in S&S at face value and assume that they know what they're talking about by virtue of their acting like they do.

It's interesting what you say about the academic semester, though; doesn't that mean there's a cycle at work and this isn't a permanent negative trend?

It's probably semi permanent, even if they do wander back I doubt they'll stay.
