One of the more popular ones is Melvin

It's the "glitch" that causes threads to lose all posts and wind up blank, even devoid of an OP

Though it's merely some troll that hops on and mass alerts the OP. I've noticed a relation with spam attacks and Melvin. Some threads were nuked during, before, or right after a spam attack.
